A few years ago I tried to start an outdoor adventure magazine and it didn't really pan out. Now its been three years and I have learned a lot so I am going to give it another go. This time I am concentrating on a print magazine and its going to be called "The Adventure Bum" of course. Physically its going to be a small magazine about the size of a guidebook and no gear reviews or how-to stuff just stories about people and their adventures and lots of photos. It will be a place for writers and photographers to get their foot in the door and hopefully challenge them to think outside the box. What I don't want is the same sanitised content that is in all the other magazines, I feel we need more characters. and we will never run more then 1/4 of the magazine as ads.
I am getting really excited about this and want to have the firsts issue out by the 1st of July and after that it will be published quarterly.
